One out of every few million goblins is a black goblin. When black goblins do occur, they are treated as gods. Black goblins are shorter than normal goblins and have a nose about half their size.
Black goblins can cast spells, and every one of them usually has different spells, stuff that they learned in their travels, from the dwarves, to the drow, to the gnomes to the dragons. They can cast both cleric and mage spells.

Combat: Black goblins tecnically avoid combat, choosing to rather bargain with the person for spells, potions, scrolls, and other magical items. Sometimes they will join passing adventurings in search of more spells, which they keep in a magical spellbook which weighs about 5 pounds, but can contain an almost unlimited supply of spells.
If forced into combat, they will use a barrage of spells, which can be cast at an amazingly fast rate, usually killing its opponent in one or two rounds.

Habitat: Black goblins have no real society and spend their lives searching the realms for magic items (which they store in magical sacks of holding), reagents and spells (which they copy from scrolls or from other spellbooks, into their own). They carry all their supplies with them and usually use all of the items, which usually include magic carpets, magical staves and wands, rings, scraps of armor and weapons.
They prize all their items, but will sometimes trade one or two for spells or "better" items.

Ecology: Black goblins live for about 100 years, except when they find spells and potions, which can expand their lifetimes. Their are reports about a black goblin who is about 4000 years old!
